SCHLAGER presents an innovative CO₂ calculation solution
at the TransferXChange Innovation Congress
On Tuesday, March 24, this year’s innovation conference “TransferXChange – From the Region, For the Region” took place at the Altes Casino in Sauerlandpark Hemer. Under the theme “15 Years of the South Westphalia Transfer Network,” stakeholders from business, academia, and politics gathered to discuss forward-looking technologies and collaborations.
Case Study: From a Makerthon Idea to a Digital Tool
Our colleague Nicolas Brink (Technical Sales) and Managing Director Thomas J. Hüttenhein represented SCHLAGER Industrieofenbau GmbH at the event. In their presentation, they showcased a current successful project that bridges the gap between research and practice: a tool for precisely calculating gas and CO₂ savings in thermal processing systems.
The foundation for this development was laid at last year’s Industry Makerthon at M12 in Hagen. Working closely with student teams from the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences, a prototype was developed in a very short time that now demonstrates how digital solutions can boost energy efficiency in plant engineering.
Focus on Sustainability
“The decarbonization of industry is one of the greatest challenges of our time. With our tool, we make potential savings transparent and measurable for our customers,” emphasizes Nicolas Brink. The congress provided the ideal platform to present this solution to a broad audience of experts and to underscore the importance of technology transfer in South Westphalia.
In addition to the expert presentations and innovation pitches, the subsequent “Tech Café” provided a valuable opportunity to network with other companies and university representatives. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Transferverbund Südwestfalen for successfully organizing this important networking event.
