DIN EN 746-2 becomes DIN EN ISO 13577-2
International standardisation for more safety, efficiency and clear specifications in the thermoprocessing industry.
For years, DIN EN 746-2 set the standard for fuel-heated thermoprocessing equipment. In September 2024, it was replaced by ISO 13577-2, establishing a globally uniform foundation for manufacturers and operators of thermal processing plants.
What changes with ISO 13577-2?
While the new standard does not fundamentally alter previous practices, it introduces significant improvements. Operators will face clearer, more detailed requirements — especially regarding maintenance obligations. Manufacturers must now provide comprehensive instructions and maintenance documentation, including inspection forms. Regular pipe inspections, for instance, will become a mandatory part of ensuring safety and efficiency.
