Networking Between Steel and High-Tech
HAGEN.VERNETZT at SCHLAGER
Last Wednesday evening, we at SCHLAGER opened the doors of our production facilities to the local business community. As part of the HAGEN.VERNETZT initiative, we welcomed numerous guests from the worlds of business, politics, and government to discuss the future of industrial furnace construction and digital innovations in the region.
Innovation Through Exchange
For us, one thing is clear: true innovation does not arise in isolation, but through open exchange across industry boundaries. As a company firmly rooted in Hagen, networking within the local community is particularly close to our hearts.
A highlight of the evening was the recap of the Industry Makerthon, which we participated in last November. Together with dedicated student teams from the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences, we developed a prototype for a digital sales tool for thermal processing systems in just 24 hours. This project illustrates the immense potential of collaboration between established industry and the next generation of academics here in South Westphalia.
Hands-On Technology: A Look Inside Our Production Facility
Theory is important, but at our company, practice is literally “tangible.” During a tour of our production facility, participants were able to get an up-close look at two large-scale systems currently in operation. The sheer scale of these systems impressively demonstrated just how complex and fascinating modern heat treatment is today – from the massive steel structures to the high-precision control technology.
Networking with Substance
Following the technical presentations, the focus shifted to one-on-one conversations. Over refreshments in our factory hall, participants discussed, asked questions, and explored ideas further. Direct dialogue between businesses, the city administration, and local politicians is essential for working together to ensure Hagen’s future as a business hub.
A Thank You to Our Guests
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to HAGEN.WIRTSCHAFTSENTWICKLUNG and to all participants for their keen interest, thought-provoking questions, and the positive energy that made this evening so special.
