FROM HAGEN TO SHANGHAI
In 2019, we were commissioned by a Chinese company to manufacture two forging chamber furnaces according to AMS 2750E. No sooner said than done: SCHLAGER gladly accepted the order and the two chamber furnaces were manufactured in our halls in Hagen. The two furnaces have a total size of 10.8 x 6.7 x 7.2 metres.
The question now is: How do these huge furnaces get to Shanghai? It would be difficult to send them as a parcel, but we didn’t let this challenge get us down.
On the high seas
In the middle of 2020, the time had come. The two furnaces were disassembled into two parts and transported to the port of Hamburg by heavy goods vehicle. Here they were transferred to a container ship and began their six-week journey to China. After our furnace parts had arrived intact on the Asian continent, the furnaces had to be reassembled and put into operation.
Assembly service and commissioning on site by our employees
Four of our employees travelled behind the furnaces in October 2020 and were allowed to start working on site after a two-week quarantine. Shortly before Christmas, the installation, cabling, commissioning and process visualisation were completed. The customer is more than satisfied.
A big thank you to our team, who worked incredibly hard on this project in Germany, China and Israel!
